February 20, 2018 - Conditional Use of Residential Property

The City Commission at their February 20th meeting will decide on the proposed Conditional Use of the property located at 1218 S. 11th Street. The property identification card lists the property as zoned R-1 “Single Family Low Density”. If the Conditional Use is approved, it will provide the instrument for the short term rental of the property. This could cascade into further short term rental use of property located in the Hibiscus Park Neighborhood and fundementally change the charscter of our neighborhood. The City Commission meeting on February 20th is the date of our usual association meeting, so our association meeting will take place at City Hall to allow us to show our opposition to the proposal.

(On February 20, 2018, the City Commission voted 3-2 to deny the proposed conditional use of the property.)

Review and approval of an application for a Conditional Use with No New Construction, submitted by Property Owner, Raul Arenas and Applicant, Andrew Drucker to operate a Dwelling Rental, offering lodging for less than six (6) months with a minimum rental period of one (1) month, at 1218 S. 11th Street, Fort Pierce, FL.  The property is zoned R-1, Single-Family Low Density Zone (Parcel ID 2415-703-0063-000-7).   Postponed from January 16, 2018 meeting.
